Geelong and Hawthorn will clash in a practice match in mid-February as part of their pre-season schedule for 2025.

The Cats will host the Hawks at Kardinia Park on Monday, February 17, at 2:00 pm local time, with the match format and further details yet to be disclosed.

Recent years have seen clubs blend AFL and VFL-listed players into extended practice match sessions tallying close to eight quarters.

Geelong are also yet to announce whether the game will be accessible to the public.

The match will fall a week prior to both sides taking part in the 2025 Community Series, with Geelong meeting Essendon at GMHBA Stadium eight days after their practice session with the Hawks.

Hawthorn will travel to Tasmania for their clash with the Western Bulldogs on Thursday, February 27, at UTAS Stadium.

Both Geelong and Hawthorn's 2025 home and away campaigns will get underway in Opening Round, with the Cats meeting Brisbane in the first game of the season before the Hawks and Swans meet at the SCG the night after on Friday, March 7.
