Geelong vice-captain Tom Stewart has added a further three years to his contract at Kardinia Park, with the Cats defender now signed until the end of 2027.
With his contract set to expire next year, the five-time All-Australian has recommitted to Geelong prior to the start of 2024 to see his tenure with Geelong reach 11 seasons.
Stewart first joined the Cats as a mature-aged recruit out of the club's VFL program following an impressive run with local club South Barwon.
He would go on to earn his maiden All-Australian honours in his second season with the Cats and would claim his first of two best and fairest titles in 2021.
The Geelong premiership defender said he was thankful to the club and looked forward to the future.
โI am humbled and grateful to the Geelong Football Club for the opportunity to pull on the Hoops week in, week out,โ Stewart said.
โEver since I walked into the Club, everyone has been so supportive of me, and I can't thank the playing group, coaching staff and wider organisation enough for all the time and effort they have not just put into my journey, but to everyone lucky enough to pull on the Hoops.
โThe future at the Cats is so bright and to be able to be on that journey with so many exciting young players and experienced heads is something I am really looking forward to and we all can't wait to crack into 2024 and continue to give our all for this footy club.โ
Stewart's re-signing is the first of potentially many for Geelong to secure over the coming 12 months, with the club having an extensive list of 2024 off-contract players.
