The Geelong Cats have confirmed their captain and vice-captain for the 2025 AFL season as they look to go one step further and reach the Grand Final.
For the third consecutive season, the Cats announced their captain as Patrick Dangerfield, while the vice-captain was named Tom Stewart for the fourth straight year.
An eight-time All-Australian, Dangerfield is one of the competition's most elite players and has played 337 AFL games - 183 for Geelong - along with winning the 2016 Brownlow Medal.
On the other hand, Stewart has made an immediate impact since his arrival in 2017 and is a five-time All-Australia as well as a dual Carji Greeves Medal winner.
โWe are grateful to have strong and influential leaders in Pat and Tom, people who will continue to lead our football program and club into 2025,โ Geelong Executive GM of Football Andrew Mackie said.
โThey are not only influential leaders on the field, but they are key drivers of high performance and Geelong's contribution to the community.
โOur entire playing group, football program and broader staff are fully behind them as they lead our AFL team in 2025.โ
