Geelong have announced that Mark Blicavs and Mitch Knevitt have both signed two-year deals with the club, keeping them at the Cats until at least the end of 2025.
Blicavs, who was originally drafted by Geelong as a Category B rookie, has since played 234 games for the club since his debut in 2013.
The 32-year-old has played all seven games for the Cats so far in 2023, averaging 14.9 disposals.
Knevitt, meanwhile, was drafted by the club with Pick No.25 in the 2021 AFL National Draft, making his senior debut in Round 8, 2022.
The 20-year-old midfielder has since played four games for the club, including two this season against Sydney and Essendon last Sunday.
Geelong's Head of List Management Andrew Mackie said the club was glad to see the duo re-sign at two different points in their careers.
“Mark continues to be a really important player for us. He has shown a high level of consistency over his career and has worked extremely hard to become the player he is, and his high training standards see him continue to improve each season,” Mackie said.
“While Mark plays a critical on-field role, he is also a leader off it. He is a popular member of the team and has great relationships across the playing squad.
“At only 20 years old we are excited to see what Mitch can achieve at our Club.”
“Mitch has a great work ethic, and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop over the next two seasons.”
