Geelong champion Joel Selwood is set to be heard on the airwaves this AFL season, with the former Cats captain joining Melbourne station 3AW's broadcast team for 2025.
Selwood has taken on an array of roles since calling time on his decorated 355-game career at the end of 2022, holding positions with the AFL, Melbourne Storm, Australian cricket team, Channel 7 and back with Geelong.
A four-time winner of the AFLPA's Most Courageous Player of the Year Award, Selwood was also added to the Rising Star voting panel last year - an award he won in his maiden season with the Cats back in 2007.
Selwood is set to bring his experience and analysis to 3AW's star-studded broadcast team this year, with the radio station confirming the addition of the 36-year-old on Wednesday.
"Joel Selwood is one of modern football's most respected characters," station manager Stephen Beers said in a statement.
"We are delighted to welcome him to football's number one call team, where he'll join some of the most iconic voices in the game."
Selwood's first game in the 3AW commentary box will come at Kardinia Park when Geelong host Fremantle for their Round 1 bout, with Selwood to be utilised for Thursday night and Saturday afternoon affairs.
3AW have also secured retired Adelaide great Rory Sloane for the season ahead, with the ex-Crows skipper joining Selwood, Matthew Richardson, Jimmy Bartel, Tony Shaw, Libby Birch and Matthew Lloyd among the station's analysts.
