Geelong have confirmed that Max Holmes will be sidelined after suffering a knee injury, wth the young Cat set to undergo surgery on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old injured his knee in Saturday's loss to Fremantle, with the Cats now confirming Holmes had suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee.
Holmes has played ten games for Geelong this season, averaging 19.4 disposals per game, bringing his career tally to 40 after making his debut in 2021.
Speaking to club media, General Manager of Football Simon Lloyd confirmed that Holmes would be on the sidelines until at least after the bye.
"Max has been enjoying a fantastic start to the season so we are disappointed for him and for the team that he will be sidelined until after the bye," Lloyd said.

Holmes becomes the latest Cat to join a growing injury list at Geelong, with Mitch Duncan suffering a hamstring injury last week and sidelined for the short term.
Jack Bowes (calf), Patrick Dangerfield (hamstring), Ollie Henry (testicle), Gary Rohan (hamstring) and Rhys Stanley (eye socket) all remain listed as short-term injuries on Geelong's injury list.
