Geelong star Tom Stewart is set to be ruled out of the Cats' Gather Round clash with Adelaide.
Stewart has already missed a game this season with injury after hurting his knee against St Kilda in Round 2, and while he was named to play against the Lions the week after, the 32-year-old was also a late out for that contest.
It came a week after Bailey Smith was also a late change against the Saints after he suffered calf soreness in Round 1 against Fremantle but was said to have recovered in time for Round 2.
Stewart returned to action against Melbourne last week and recorded 24 disposals and 11 marks.
However, the Cats defender will not string together consecutive games on Thursday night, with Stewart suffering from gastro, per 7News' Mitch Cleary. Stewart will be sidelined for the game against the Crows after travelling up with the team earlier this week.
It is a massive blow for Geelong who are already without Jack Henry, who sustained a hamstring injury in the Cats' win over the Demons last week.
Official team selection will be announced at 6:20 pm AEST.
