After a stellar season in the navy blue and white hoops, Geelong midfielder Sam Menegola has penned a new contract extension to remain at Kardinia Park until the end of the 2023 season.

The club announced the re-signing on Wednesday, with Menegola having a career best season in 2020 after finishing sixth in the club's best and fairest and earning a an All-Australian squad nomination.

Menegola ranked top four in the league for possessions and marks this season after playing every match for the year.

โ€œSam is an important player for us and he has turned himself into a player who is strong inside the contest as a midfielder and hard running on the outside as an influential winger,โ€ Geelongโ€™s general manager of football Simon Lloyd said.
