Geelong and Gary Rohan are reportedly nearing agreement on a contract extension that will secure the forward's future at Kardinia Park.
Preliminary discussions between the two sides have taken place with hopes that an agreement could come soon, according to AFL.com.au's Riley Beveridge.
Rohan was an integral member of Geelong's 2022 premiership side and has played impressively in patches this season, particularly against Port Adelaide last week when he slammed home three first-quarter goals at Adelaide Oval.
Rohan's agent, Nick Gieschen, spoke recently about the Cat's contract situation on the Gettable podcast, expressing his hope that a deal could get done imminently.
"I'm really hoping we can get something done soon," Gieschen told Gettable.
"He obviously played really well (against Port) and he certainly hasn't lost any of his speed and power. It was great to see him kick three in the first quarter. I think everyone was pretty excited about that. I think we're close.
"As long as he has the speed and the power, which he obviously still does … he will be a year-to-year proposition, but I'm hoping he can hang around for a while because he's still a really valuable player for the Cats."
Rohan joins fellow Geelong forwards Tom Hawkins, Gryan Miers, Brad Close, and Sam Simpson in currently being without a contract beyond this season.
