Carlton are hopeful of regaining George Hewett for this weekend's clash against GWS after the Blue missed Round 2 with a hand injury.
Hewett had his hand stood on during Round 1's draw against Richmond but didn't suffer any serious damage. The 27-year-old was ruled out of Carlton's side in Round 2 but will face a test this week to return.
The Blues, who are currently sitting 7th on the ladder with one win and one draw, will face the Giants on Sunday afternoon as they look to get more wins on the board but will do so with just under a dozen players currently on the injury list.
Carlton confirmed that Sam Durdin will be unavailable for 1-2 weeks after suffering a hamstring in the VFL, with scans confirming the strain on Monday.
"Scans today confirmed a low-grade hamstring strain sustained in the VFL," the Blues confirmed on their website.
"Will be unavailable for 1-2 weeks."
Meanwhile, a Round 4 return is looming for Jack Martin. The 28-year-old featured for the Blues in Round 1 but missed the second week with a calf injury, now set to face a test to return on Good Friday against North Melbourne.
