The Round 4 match review results for Saturday's matches have been released, with four players receiving charges while two other incidents received assessments but no charges were made.
GWS ruckman Braydon Preuss was the only suspension for the round so far, receiving a one-match ban for striking Fremantle veteran David Mundy during the third quarter.
Preuss marked the ball on the half-back flank before carelessly spinning around and striking Mundy in the head with a loose arm.
The suspension will see the ruckman miss the Giant’s clash with reigning premiers Melbourne in Round 5 should he opt not to challenge the charge.
Tiger’s skipper Toby Nankervis can accept a $2000 fine for tripping Western Bulldogs ruckman Tim English. Although the incident was deemed intentional, the low impact was not enough to warrant a suspension.
The fine was also brought down from $3000.
Fremantle forward Michael Walters can also accept a fine for making careless contact with an umpire. The incident involved Walters allegedly pushing another player into the path of an umpire, with the tribunal ruling the 31-year-old to receive a $1000 fine as a result.
The tribunal assessed two further incidents, but both were ruled insufficient and will not warrant any punishment for the involved players.
Sydney’s Tom McCartin was let off after landing a high blow on North Melbourne skipper Jack Ziebell in the second quarter.
Although McCartin did make contact, the tribunal ruled that insufficient force was made to rule the incident a reportable offence, so no punishment was issued.
West Coast's Jamaine Jones also escapes a fine for a crunching tackle on Collingwood’s Jamie Elliot.
The rough tackle from behind resulted in Elliot being substituted out of the game with a shoulder injury, but the tribunal stated that Jones’ actions were not unreasonable under the circumstances and no rulings were made.
