Giants duo Callan Warn and Lachie Whitfield are both tests to come up against North Melbourne in their Round 13 clash this weekend.

The club confirmed on Monday that Ward will have to go through the final stages of concussion protocols in order to be cleared to play, while Whitfield has been managing an ankle injury for some time, but is expected to put his hand up for selection if he is able to train on Friday.

In more positive news for the Giants, Phil Davis is coming closer to making a return from a hamstring injury after returning to training on the weekend.

Tim Taranto is also managing ongoing back issues but could look to return as soon as next week after previously missing the last two rounds.

The club have also confirmed that Bobby Hill underwent successful surgery after being diagnosed with testicular cancer, but will remain sidelined indefinitely while he undergoes further assessment.

In terms of outs, midfielder Jacob Hopper will meet with a knee specialist in the coming days to determine whether he can return to training any time soon.
