The GWS Giants have moved to extend the contracts of youngsters Isaac Cumming and Ryan Angwin until the end of 2024.

Cumming has become a lock in the Giants' backline in recent years, playing 38 games since his debut in 2018, including all 24 games in season 2021.

The 23-year-old, who was a product of the Giants' academy, has signed a two-year extension to remain in the charcoal and orange and has impressed early in 2022, averaging 23 disposals per game off half-back.

Cumming's recommitment comes in the wake of telling Zero Hanger in late March of his desire to remain with the club.

Uncapped wingman Ryan Angwin has also extended his deal until 2024, with the hard-running youngster pushing to make his debut in 2022.

In just his second season, the 19-year-old has spent the first portion of his career in the Giants' VFL side, playing nine games in 2021.

General Manager of Football Jason McCartney expressed his delight in securing the services of the duo, who are seen as important cogs in the Giants' future.

"We're really excited to be able to lock down two really talented young players for another two years," he told gwsgiants.com.au.

"Isaac is a homegrown talent and an important part of our side and it's been great to see his journey over the past few years.

"He's already had a really strong start to 2022 after taking on a bigger role for us last season, and we're really looking forward to seeing what else he can produce in the future.

"We're excited about what the coming years hold for both Isaac and Ryan."
