The GWS Giants have locked away veteran Lachlan Keeffe for another season, with the key tall signing a fresh one-year contract extension.
At 32 years of age, the orange and charcoal have locked down an experienced contributor with the versatility as a tall.
It will be Keeffe's 15th season in the AFL and his eighth with the Giants after spending his first seven years with Collingwood.
At 204cm, Keeffe has developed into a versatile tall for the Giants, with an ability to be thrown in as a key forward, back and as a backup ruckman to Kieren Briggs.
Although playing the majority of the 2024 season in the VFL, the Giants' veteran managed to break into the senior side through the back half of the year - playing the final five games of the season.
The Giants' Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, said the club is pleased to lock away a reliable contributor for 2025.
“Lachlan is a much-loved member of our group and someone who offers us great flexibility and versatility with his ability to play a number of roles,” said McCartney.
“We know exactly what we are going to get out of Lachie and we know that in 2025 he'll contribute in a meaningful way on and off the field.”
It comes as the Giants are preparing to lose key personnel, with free agents Harry Perryman, Isaac Cumming and unsigned midfielder James Peatling accepting or considering offers from other clubs.
Adam Kingsley and the Giants will look to retain more of their list ahead of the 2024 trade period, which begins October 7.
