As the dust settles on a spectacular 2023 season following Collingwood's thrilling clinching of the premiership, AFL clubs - including the Magpies - turn their attention to the off-season trade, free agency and draft space to begin their preparations for next year.

The Cats are looking to stand firm as Esava Ratugolea chases an opportunity elsewhere, with a request to get to Port Adelaide understood to have been lodged.
