Gold Coast have confirmed a trio of exits following the 2023 season, with Jed Anderson, Brodie McLaughlin, and Charlie Constable all departing.
Constable has announced his retirement from football to pursue opportunities away from the game, while Anderson and McLaughlin have not been offered new deals for 2024.
Constable began his career with Geelong and would play 12 games during his time at Kardinia Park before being delisted at the end of 2021, with the midfielder earning a reprieve through the Suns at the National Draft later that year.
He would play four games during his two years at Carrara, with his final game being the Suns' VFL Grand Final win, where he was captain in the 19-point win over Werribee.
McLaughlin also featured in that game and would boot three goals against the Tigers to cap off a stellar season at VFL level, where he led the competition for goals.
The former Frankston forward joined the Suns through the SSP earlier this year and wouldn't manage a game at the AFL level.
Anderson was also an SSP addition late into 2022 following his departure from North Melbourne.
Anderson played 89 games over seven years with the Roos, which came after a move from Hawthorn in 2015. He wouldn't manage an appearance for the Suns' senior side and sits on 99 games for his career.
โOn behalf of the football club I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Charlie, Brodie and Jed for everything they have given the club in their time on the Gold Coast," Gold Coast talent manager Craig Cameron said in a club statement.
โCharlie has made a really mature decision to step away from his football career to start the next chapter of his life and we fully support him in that choice.
โWhile Brodie and Jed didn't play any senior games for the club, they both played significant roles in establishing the dominance of our VFL program which has seen the club claim its first VFL premiership last month.
โWe wish them all the best of luck for their next opportunity.โ
