Contracted Gold Coast midfielder Brayden Fiorini is reportedly open to finding a new club this off-season.

Fiorini is signed to the Suns until the end of next season and has previously explored opportunities elsewhere, having been strongly linked to a move to Collingwood two years ago.

A deal between Gold Coast and the Magpies failed to eventuate, as the latter also looked to accommodate moves for Daniel McStay, Bobby Hill, Billy Frampton and Tom Mitchell in the same off-season.

Under contract at the time, Fiorini - a Greensborough product from Melbourne's northeast - was satisfied to remain in Queensland.

He has since played an additional 29 games for the Suns over the past two years, often falling in and out of the senior side given his strong form at VFL level and the star-studded engine room Gold Coast is home to.

Still placed on the periphery of Damien Hardwick's best 23, Fiorini is again assessing the open market while under contract, perย 9 News'ย Tom Morris.

Morris revealed onย Trade Radioย on Thursday that Fiorini is open to finding better opportunities at another club if a keen suitor were to emerge.

The 27-year-old has played 105 AFL games across nine seasons with the Suns, with a career-best campaign coming in 2019 when he averaged 25.43 disposals, 4.19 marks, 4.76 tackles and 3.67 clearances from a career-high 21 appearances that season.

Fiorini's potential departures adds to an already busy off-season for the Suns, who are expected to lose forward Jack Lukosius to Port Adelaide in a trade deal.

Gold Coast are hoping to lure Richmond's Daniel Rioli and Collingwood's John Noble via the trade period also, while Adelaide's Elliott Himmelberg could join the Suns via free agency as early as Friday.

The Suns are expected to part ways with most of their early draft selections in favour of securing the needed draft points to match bids on Academy prospects at November's intake, with teenager Leonardo Lombard a chance to fetch a rival bid as early as the top 10 in the draft.

The trade period opens on Monday and will run through to Wednesday, October 16.
