Gather Round saw a multitude of monstrous performances from the AFL's best, with five of the nine games seeing someone receive a perfect 20 votes in the race for Zero Hanger's AFL MVP.

Matthew Rowell's break-out season as potentially the AFL's best inside midfielder continues as he notched a perfect 20 votes for his 26-disposal, 11-clearance performance in Gold Coast's exhilirating win over North Melbourne. His game-high 15 contested possessions and 14 score involvements ensured he cements himself as the sole player in first place, 53 total votes for the year.

Trailing Rowell in the overall race by two votes is Izak Rankine, whose ten score involvements from 25 disposals wasn't enough to secure victory over a rampant second-half from Geelong but did earn him 12 votes. Bailey Smith led the game with 15 votes from our staff, with Max Holmes and Patrick Dangerfield also rewarded with 14 and 13 votes, respectively, for their magnitudinal efforts in the Cats' comeback win.

The depth of GWS' forward line is apparent as they cruised to victory over St Kilda, but it was club legend Toby Greene who stole the show, his five-goal haul drawing in a perfect 20 votes. Those votes rocket him into third place on the leaderboard, 50 total for the season. Lachie Ash's dominance off half-back saw him take home 14 votes as young gun Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera was the stand-out Saint in the loss, his three-goal, 24-disposal afternoon polling a strong 13 votes.

Zach Merrett has ascended into fourth with a 20-vote weekend, too, galvanizing the footy world with 37 disposals and eight marks in the Bombers' win at Adelaide Oval. Jye Menzie polled his first votes for the year too, receiving 15 after the first four-goal haul of his career.

Other 20-vote-getters from Gather Round include Fremantle's Josh Treacy for his six-goal bag against the Tigers and Sam Walsh for his three-goal, 37-disposal obliteration of the Eagles in Carlton's maiden win of the season.

Collingwood's Ned Long (19 votes) starred in his first start of the season, collecting 29 disposals to reward senior coach Craig McRae's decision to not play him as a substitute. Eric Hipwood also tallied 19 votes in a five-goal second-half haul to lead Brisbane to yet another come-from-behind win, with Zak Butters (18 votes) completing the Gather Round spectacle with supreme impact in his 33-disposal outing against Hawthorn.
