Gold Coast's fears of star midfielder Matt Rowell departing the club at season's end can be allayed following his emphatic one-word answer.
Rowell is arguably the hottest property in the AFL market and has already been courted by the likes of Geelong, while Collingwood, Essendon and St Kilda are without a doubt prepared to throw their hats in the ring.
Up until this point, the former No.1 Pick has remained relatively coy about his future and where he'll be beyond 2025, but his response on Triple M Gold Breakfast with Liesel Jones, Liam & Spida was anything but.
Peter 'Spida' Everitt asked Rowell point-blank if he'll be at the Suns in 2026, to which was met be a resounding "Yes".
Gold Coast coach Damien Hardwick revealed it was difficult to navigate the current environment surrounding player movement, but understood that it is the new reality.
"It's not ideal when one of your best players is having a chat with an opposition, but that's part and parcel of the industry," Hardwick said in an interview with AFL Media two weeks ago.
"It's a big boy industry.
"We're confident Matt will stay. He's loved here by our players, our coaching staff and our fans.
"As a footy club, we have to hold up our end of the bargain and win a lot of footy games because that's what he's here for, to win."
Rowell was added to the leadership group ahead of the 2025 season that will be headed by great mate and fellow on-baller Noah Anderson.
