Emerging GWS defender Leek Aleer is expected to be at a rival club in 2026, with Brisbane a "watch" throughout the year.
Aleer - who was taken with Pick 15 in the 2021 National Draft - burst onto the scene last year in eight of his 12 AFL outings in the absence of Sam Taylor.
In last year's trade period, the 23-year-old received heavy interest from rival clubs given he isn't a first-choice backman, but opted to give it one more season at the Giants.
So far, Aleer has yet to be sighted in Adam Kingsley's side, falling behind the likes of Sam Taylor, Harry Himmelberg, Jack Buckley and Connor Idun.
Speaking on AFL Media's Gettable, Riley Beveridge and Cal Twomey both suggested that Aleer would be elsewhere after seeing out the remainder of his current contract.
"Leek Aleer doesn't look like he's got a place in the Giants side," Beveridge said.
"I can't see him staying at the football club beyond 2025.
Twomey interrupted, saying," Gone".
"Brisbane is another watch in the Leek Aleer chase."
In the pre-season, Aleer made it known that a "major contributor" to his decision about the future will depend on how many games he plays.
"That will obviously be a major contributor to my decision," Aleer told The Age.
"I love the Giants, I love the boys, I love the coach, and all the staff โ and I love Sydney as a whole. But I'm a very aspirational person. This year, I'm very focused on just playing footy and enjoying what is going to hopefully be a fruitful season for us as a football club.
"Playing as many games as I possibly can is my main priority. When I get to that crossroad at the back end of the year, to decide what I want to do, I will talk about and deal with those things then."
