Young Demons ruck/forward Luke Jackson is perhaps the most promising talent in football and is becoming an in-demand name throughout the course of the season as he remains unsigned for next year.
Jackson was a revelation for the Dees during 2021, quickly rising to prominence alongside the league's current premier ruckman in Max Gawn, with the third-year tall but set to usurp the Melbourne skipper sometime in the future.
Melbourne senior coach Simon Goodwin was full of praise when addressing the media about his young gun's character, and even spoke briefly about the club's commitment to Jackson long-term.
“He’s a terrific young player,” Goodwin, said via The Age.
“We’re really confident with where that [negotiation] sits with him, and I’m sure something will be done in the not too distant future.
“The relationship he has with his teammates is extraordinary, and hopefully we will get something done in the not too distant future.”

While the 20-year-old is seemingly likely to commit to the club that drafted him third overall in 2019, Jackson is out of contract this year and the league's two Western Australian clubs won't go down without a fight until his signature is officially put to paper at Gosch's Paddock.
Interest in the Demons young gun will no doubt be amplified as Bulldogs ruckman Tim English, a fellow WA product, is set to sign a contract extension with the Western Bulldogs in the coming weeks.
Jackson and the Dees will travel to Perth this week to face last-placed West Coast on Sunday night.
