Channel Nine's revival of The Footy Show on Wednesday night has been met with average ratings figures.
The one-off special drew 420,000 viewers across the country with 328,000 of those coming from Melbourne.
In comparison, Channel 7's 'The Front Bar', has consistently been pulling in 350,000 and 450,000 viewers in recent weeks and is expected to surpass these numbers when it airs its Grand Final special tonight.
Channel Nine's program saw the familiar faces of Eddie McGuire, Sam Newman and Trevor Marmalade reunited as a trio for the first time since 2005.
Rebecca Maddern was also onstage for the 25 year anniversary special, however due to laryngitis, Maddern lost her voice and was restricted to holding up signs.
Overall the show received mixed responses on social media, with the always controversial
Sam Newman and the stand-up comedy of Trevor Marmalade dividing opinion.
Many openly panned the shows return, while some held hopes of a one-off special returning each year prior to the Grand Final.
Channel Nine will also debut its much-loved Sunday Footy Show panel on Friday night as it attempts to discover a winning formula after The Footy Show's new format saw it axed earlier this year.
