Hawthorn midfielder James Worpel has had his evening at GIANTS Stadium end early after suffering a shoulder injury in the opening term against GWS on Sunday afternoon.
After gaining possession in attack, Worpel quickly disposed of the ball by foot as he was tackled to the ground by Giants gun Lachie Whitfield.
Bracing for contact with the turf, Worpel's right arm awkwardly landed on the ground and soon left the fledgling Hawk grimacing and in the arms of medical staff.
Worpel was assisted off the field and was soon subbed out of the match, with veteran Liam Shiels brought into the game.
The setback adds to a somewhat sour season for Worpel, who has battled to hold his place in Sam Mitchell's side.
Hate to see it.
