Adelaide Crows defender Tom Doedee has signed a new two-year contract extension, extending his stay at the club until the end of the 2023 season.
Doedee has played 40 games for the club since being picked up with pick 17 in the 2015 draft and has enjoyed a successful start to his career, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 2018 NAB Rising Star.
Elevated to the leadership group in 2020, Doedee has embraced a leadership role at the Crows and has been a frequent stand-in skipper in the absence of captain Rory Sloane.
The star intercept defender told the club website how his decision to re-sign was a no-brainer, given the excitement of the young new playing group.
"I am really excited about what we are building here at the Crows," Doedee said.
"And a major reason why I want to be part of the Club’s future is because of the relationships I have with everyone at all levels of the footy club, and in particular the playing group."
Doedee also outlined how much he is enjoying life in Adelaide, since being drafted in 2015.
"Since being drafted Adelaide has become home for me and my partner Emily and we love living here and being part of the Club."
Adelaide General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid highlighted the leadership qualities and values that Doedee brings to the club and playing group.
"Tom typifies what this group is about, putting others first, leading by example on and off the field and he has genuine care for the group and the drive to compete and improve," Reid told the club website.
"He has also become an important leader for us and we are very pleased he has extended his contract for another two years."
Doedee is the 11th player to re-sign at the Crows in 2021, highlighting a positive start on and off the field this season for the club.
