GWS are excited by the prospects of ruckman Nick Madden and forward Nathan Wardius and have extended their time at the club.
A Giants Academy product, Madden has penned a new deal that's set to expire at the end of 2026.
Developing under former player Shane Mumford and teammates Keiran Briggs and Braydon Preuss, the ultra-competitive 19-year-old has shown plenty in his development for the club to be impressed.
Considered a long-term prospect, Madden will be given an extra two years to evolve his skills and ruck craft.
Since joining the Giants at the end of last year as a Category B rookie, Wardius has impressed over the pre-season, earning a new contract, taking him to the end of 2025.
A dynamic, mid-sized forward, the 19-year-old was initially in the GWS Academy before COVID and returned to the Hume League in New South Wales.
Wardius kicked 149 goals across three seasons and landed on the Giant's VFL list before being snapped up by the senior side.
GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, is thrilled to re-sign the talented teenage duo.
โWe are really excited to extend the contracts of Nick and Nathan,โ McCartney said.
โWe have a really exciting crop of young talent at the club, and we see the pair as players who can make an impact at senior level in the future so it's great to have them both locked away.
โNick has made great progression since his arrival at the club, and we believe he has the physical traits and the skills required to make it at this level.
โLikewise, it's great to have Nathan locked away for another year as he's another rookie that's come in and really impressed since joining our list late last year.
โNathan is a forward with great athleticism and great touch and feel for the game and we see him as a real x-factor that can really thrive in our professional environment.
โHaving both of these boys recommit is exciting for the club as we enter what we hope is a really successful period of time for the GIANTS.โ
The AFL side will look to continue their unbeaten run when they host St Kilda at Manuka Oval on Saturday.
