The pre-finals bye looks set to give GWS the needed time to have forward duo Toby Bedford and Jake Riccardi available for their qualifying final matchup with Sydney.

The Giants have been without Riccardi since Round 20 due to finger surgery, with the club confirming a month ago that the 24-year-old would likely be available for their first final.

Riccardi will increase his contact workload over the next week before facing critical training sessions.

Bedford missed the club's Round 24 clash against the Western Bulldogs due to calf soreness, with he and Riccardi to be monitored over the next week before being cleared to play.

Both players are seen to be likely to face the Swans next Saturday but will need to prove their fitness before then.

Forward pair Brent Daniels (back) and Conor Stone (illness) were also late outs for Adam Kingsley's side last weekend but are expected to be available for next week's game.

Defender Isaac Cumming is also in the mix to return from a calf injury that has kept him on the sidelines since Round 19 - just his fourth game of the season.

Cumming took part in a scrimmage session last weekend to aid his case for a return and got through unscathed.

Fellow backman Lachie Ash is also set to return for next week's final against the Swans after serving a one-game suspension.
