The Greater Western Sydney Giants have launched their new guernsey design ahead of their 2021 campaign, with a focus on centring the infamous ‘G’.
It was announced on Thursday night by the Giants on their Twitter page as former Giant Heath Shaw was shown as the 'designer' of both the home and away guernseys, while Giants gun Toby Greene was modelling them both.
Also revealed is their new apparel partner, Puma, switching from Xblades, who have served with the Giants for the past few seasons.
Giants Chief Executive David Matthews told media that he was delighted with the change as the club gears up for its 10th season.
“Over the past 10 years, the Giants have developed a reputation for being innovative in everything we do and these bold designs fit with this ethos,” he said.
“I have no doubt that our members will love these new designs and they’ll prove very popular as we mark this significant milestone across the 2021 season.”
Since the Giants entered the AFL in 2012 their guernseys have instilled their logo to one side of their guernsey.
From this year, the stylised ‘G’ will be placed on the centre of both guernseys, as well as having the size of the logo reduced.
The club’s away guernsey will focus more on the club’s orange, which has been synonymous with the Giants since its inception to the league.
Before that, the Giants’ clash strip has been predominantly white, with the past four years being a white guernsey with a large orange ‘G’ planted on one side.
Now it’ll be solely orange with a small charcoal ‘G’ implanted in the middle.
