Hawthorn premiership forwards Jack Gunston and Luke Breust have signed one-year extensions to remain in the brown and gold for the 2025 season.
Both members of the club's famous three-peat from 2013-2015, Gunston and Breust will now play in their 13th and 16th seasons respectively with the Hawks next year.
Gunston, who started his career with Adelaide and spent the 2023 season with Brisbane, has played 227 games for Hawthorn in a 258-game career - 16 of which have come in 2024.
The 2018 All-Australian and 2020 Peter Crimmins Medal winner is a three-time club-leading goalkicker who has kicked 438 games for the Hawks to rank ninth at the club on the all-time list.
Breust has led Hawthorn's goalkicking in five separate seasons and has won two All-Australian selections in his 298-game career, which has earned a return of 548 goals - good for seventh all-time at the Hawks.
The 33-year-old kicked 30 or more goals in 12 of his 13 seasons before 2024 and has 20 goals to his name this year in another strong season for the veteran sharpshooter.
“To see the way that Jack and Luke continue to make their mark on our young group gives us enormous confidence that they will provide immense value in 2025,” Hawks list manager Mark McKenzie said.
“While they both have proven they can still contribute at a high level on the field this year, we know that their influence extends much further than just on match day, with their knowledge and wisdom vital to the development of our younger players.”
“Given their standing as celebrated premiership heroes, I'm sure the Hawthorn faithful will be eager to see them go around again next season.”
Both Gunston and Breust are set to hold key roles in Hawthorn's finals series this September, being among the few players in Sam Mitchell's side with finals experience.
The Hawks will face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG in an elimination final on Friday at 7:40 pm (AEST).
