Hawthorn has confirmed its list ahead of the delisted free agency and draft periods, making a call on youngster Joshua Bennett's future.
The Category B Rookie was delisted ahead of the list lodgement deadline (October 31st), joining Denver Grainger-Barras, Cooper Stephens, Jack O'Sullivan, Ethan Phillips and Clay Tucker out the door.
Bennett arrived at the Hawks in 2022 and, despite showing plenty of promise in the VFL, could not break into the senior side.
Across his two years in the brown and gold, the Next Generation Academy graduate played 33 games for Box Hill before being struck down by a long-term shoulder injury in 2024.
Hawthorn National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie acknowledged Bennetts for contributing to the club.
โJosh was a much-loved teammate who showed great character and dedication during his time at Hawthorn,โ McKenzie said.
โOn behalf of the club, I'd like to thank Josh for his service to Hawthorn and wish him well in his next chapter.โ
Hawthorn welcomed key defensive duo Tom Barrass and Josh Battle during the trade and free agency period.
The Hawks currently hold 40 players on their list and have up to four spots across the primary and rookie categories.
Sam Mitchell and his coaching staff currently hold Picks 33, 71 and 77 in next month's National Draft.
