Hawthorn are set to unleash another debutant with defender Damon Greaves set to make his debut against St Kilda on Sunday, per hawthornfc.com.au.

Greaves was taken with the 13th pick in the 2018 Rookie Draft and has since bided his time with the Hawks' VFL affiliate Box Hill.

The 20-year-old featured for Hawthorn during their 2020 Marsh Series and is now set to make his debut in round 16.

Greaves said it was a wholesome feeling to find out about the selection.

“It was a pretty special moment in front of the group getting announced, and I’m sure the excitement will start to build even more as we get closer and closer.”

When asked about his own game, Greaves said he'll look to play his role in the 22.

“I play down back. My kicking skills and my running capabilities are my strengths, as well as my one on one defending.

“(Hopefully I can) provide the drive off half back.”

The Hawks will face the Saints at Metricon Stadium as the opening game for three Sunday fixtures, kicking off at 1:05pm.
