Hawthorn forward Chad Wingard and Western Bulldogs midfielder Tom Liberatore have been substituted out of Sunday afternoon's bout at Hobart's UTAS Stadium after suffering respective injuries.
Wingard, the Hawks' livewire forward, sustained a suspected Achilles ailment in the opening minutes of Hawthorn's Round 22 clash with the Dogs on Sunday afternoon, with the veteran goalsneak immediately exiting the playing field.
Wingard was assisted by medical staff straight into the rooms and was visibly unable to put any pressure on his left foot.
Bailey Macdonald, Hawthorn's starting tactical substitute on the afternoon, was injected into the action in the first quarter.
The 30-year-old Wingard is currently without a contract going into next season, as his current Hawthorn deal expires at the end of 2023.
The Hawks swung a late team change on Saturday evening, with forward Brandon Ryan (illness) replaced in Sam Mitchell's Sunday side by utility Denver Grainger-Barras.
Liberatore, meantime, exited the contest in the second quarter due to a concussion concern after his head came in contact with the legs of Hawthorn's Conor Nash.
Blood was teaming from the midfielder's head as he was assisted from the UTAS Stadium playing field. Liberatore was quickly replaced by Bulldogs starting substitute Oskar Baker.
After toppling the ladder-leading Magpies last weekend in an almighty boilover at the MCG, the Hawks are looking to claim another significant scalp on Sunday afternoon against the finals-contending Bulldogs.
