Young ruck Ned Reeves has signed a new three-year deal with Hawthorn, extending his time at the club until at least 2026.
The 24-year-old played 12 games last year, a career best, 26.9 hitouts per game. Originally joining the Hawks as part of the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period prior to the 2019 season, Reeves has since played 17 games with the club, solidifying himself as an important cog in Hawthorn's rebuild after a breakout 2022 season.
In a club statement, National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie said that Reeves has exciting potential in a young Hawks side.
“We see Ned as an important piece of Hawthorn's future and we are thrilled that he has committed to the club for another three years,” McKenzie said.
“Ned's progression as a young ruckman has been really strong, he continues to build upon his development each and every day with his strong work ethic.”
“Having only turned 24 at the end of last season, we believe Ned's ceiling is as high as any young ruckman in the league and we look forward to seeing him take the next step in 2023.”
