Hawthorn utility Harry Morrison has solidified his future with the Hawks, signing a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2026 season.

Morrison, who has been a versatile and reliable asset for Hawthorn since being drafted in 2016, has played 103 games for the brown and gold.

Regarded for his ability to play across multiple positions, the 25-year-old has shown his value both in defense and on the wing, where his run and carry skills have been a crucial element of the Hawks' game.

In 2024, Morrison played 12 games, including two finals appearances, where he averaged 15.3 disposals, 4.3 marks, and 3.3 score involvements per match. His performances during the latter part of the season were a key factor in the Hawks' finals push.

Hawthorn List and Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie praised Morrison's effort and adaptability over the years, calling the new contract a reward for his ongoing contribution to the team.

“Since arriving at the club eight seasons ago, Harry has consistently proven his reliability and versatility,” McKenzie said.

“He was able to celebrate his 100th game this season and become a key contributor in the back half of the season, especially during our finals campaign.

"Harry continually demonstrates he is willing to play any role for the team, whether through the midfield, on the wing, or down back, and we're excited about what he can deliver in this new deal.”

Morrison's journey has been one of resilience. Despite being a regular feature in the Hawks' lineup early in his career, he found himself out of favour under coach Sam Mitchell in recent seasons, spending time in the VFL with Box Hill.

However, Morrison fought his way back into the senior side in 2024, playing a critical role in the team's final five games, including standout performances in their finals matches.

The two-year extension provides Morrison with the security to build on his form and continue contributing to Hawthorn's future success as the club looks to develop its young list.

The Hawks are also juggling the future of several other players, with key defenders Denver Grainger-Barras and Ethan Phillips, as well as small forwards Jack O'Sullivan and Joshua Bennetts, yet to sign new deals.
