An impactful return to footy has seen Giants key-forward Jesse Hogan rewarded with a new one-year deal.
The gun goal-kicker arrived at GWS this season after a disappointing, injury-riddled two seasons back home in Wester Australia with Fremantle.
Hogan has still struggled with injury this year but has displayed a strong resilience in his ability to work through his maiden campaign with the Giants and remain an effective forward threat.

A quad setback kept Hogan sidelined for the early stages of the season, and after a pair of four goal hauls it was a calf issue that had him on the shelf until returning to boot 10 goals in his six matches since.
Extending the 26-year-old was a move that Giants General Manager of Football Jason McCartney took pleasure in, as he believes in Hogan’s long term impact.
“Jesse’s taken his opportunity this season and settled really nicely into our club,” McCartney told GIANTS Media.
“He’s had some interruptions but has shown his impact in his eight games so far.
“We know he can be a strong focal point for us up forward and kick goals and it was an easy decision to extend him by another year.”
Hogan also chimed in on his updated status , stating his excitement to continue in the orange and charcoal.
“I’ve loved the move to Sydney and the chance to join the GIANTS, despite being on the road in the back half of the season,” he said.
“The club gave me an opportunity and I’m really keen to repay their faith.
“I’m looking forward to next season but first we have a finals series to prepare for and I’m excited to get my first opportunity to play in a final this weekend.”
With his string of recent form coupled with an extended removal from his latest setback, Hogan appears primed to threaten cross-town rivals Sydney as they are locked into an Elimination final battle this week.
