Fremantle star Nat Fyfe has confirmed his commitment to the Fremantle Dockers, refuting claims he willย seek a trade at season's end.
Following Fyfe's comments last week that he would look at his free agency options, reports emerged that theย Gold Coast Suns had plans to lure the Brownlow Medalist away from the Dockers.
However, Fyfe told the club's website on Monday that he is committed to Fremantle.
"I donโt want there to be any doubt that I see my future here at the Fremantle Dockers,โ Fyfe said.
โWe have a strong plan in place, with good peopleโฆand recent reports that I would consider a trade at the end of the season are completely false.
โMy manager, Jason Dover, remains in constant communication with the club and weโll get something sorted at the right time next year.
โAt the moment though, all my focus is firmly on getting my leg right and getting back to playing my best footy.โ
Fremantle CEO Steve Rosich said the club has no doubt Fyfe is committed to the club for the long term.
โNatโs comments today confirming his commitment to the Fremantle Dockers are welcome by the club but come as no surprise to us,โ Rosich said.
โNat...has always shown a strong commitment to Fremantle.
โHis comments today should also put an end to recent external speculation that the club would consider trading Nat to another club at the end of the season, which is not something we would entertain.โ
