Marvel is a pop culture phenomenon, from comics to TV to cinema, it has managed to take the world by storm across decades.
So, we at Zero Hanger thought why not bring the Marvel universe to the AFL, by having a go at comparing every club to a character from the live-action movies and tv shows.

Essendon
Essendon's Marvel counterpart is a man who once led a team that was the talk of the town in the X-Men, Professor X.
The Bombers were once the talk of the town as well, a powerful side that is no longer that same team, having not won a final since 2004.

Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, had a strong team with notable household names like Wolverine, the same could be said for the Dons and say, James Hird?
The last time we saw Xavier, excluding his cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was in the movie Logan, where he was seen to be old and suffering from dementia.
So he doesn't have a clue what's going on at times, much like Essendon today.

No – the filth in the afl (“PORT ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB (A.F.L.) LIMITED”) was formed and incorporated in 1995. There is a club that is now (port adelaide “magpies” of which the ‘wobbles are a poor copy) which is now owned by port (afl) that was formed in the previous century (1870).
