Each week we're going to look at five past stars we'd love to bring back into the modern game amid the coronavirus crisis.

This week, we're bringing back five players from Collingwood's past as a gift to their footy-starved fans. We're pretty sure coach Nathan Buckley wouldn't mind these names slotting into the 22 either...

We're not necessarily picking the five best players of years past, but rather those stars still in the memory of Collingwood fans and most likely to deliver some much needed excitement. Or for a variety of other reasons, like players with unfinished business, that fill team needs or would offer good marketing revenue during these tough times.

Any returning player comes back at the peak of their powers, so no arguments about a certain middle-aged former power forward's ability to still kick it 70 metres plus.

And yes, we considered Buckley, but decided the logistics of phoning up to his box in between stints on the bench would be a little too taxing, even for Bucks.

5. Anthony Rocca

The Pies have long cried out for a power forward that can grab a game by the scruff of the neck - and we think we've found their man in Anthony Rocca.

While we'd like to be fair to Mason Cox, when you've got a guy who can kick the ball twice as far you're always going to be playing second fiddle. We'd imagine Rocca coming straight into the Pies' lineup and pushing for that flag he just missed out on when he announced his retirement in 2009.
