Port Adelaide forward Jack Lukosius' first home game for the Power lasted just minutes as a leg injury forced Ken Hinkley into subbing out his new recruit.
A collision with Richmond's Jayden Short in the opening moments of Saturday's game at Adelaide Oval left Lukosius limping from the field and in need of immediate treatment from club medical staff.
The former Sun, who sought a move to Alberton over the off-season, ventured down to the Power's rooms soon after being assessed on the sidelines, with Port Adelaide eventually making the call to replace Lukosius in the game.
The key forward had returned to the field for a period of the first quarter before coming back to the interchange, with his afternoon then cut short.
Debutant Christian Moraes, who also joined the Power last year as a draft selection, was injected into the contest with just over five minutes left in the opening term.
The Power soon confirmed Lukosius was dealing with a knee concern.
A potential setback for Lukosius would see the Power's key position stocks limited further, with Hinkley already without key forward Todd Marshall for most of the year due to a ruptured Achilles sustained in the summer.
Tall defender Brandon Zerk-Thatcher is still up to two months away with a back injury, while Esava Ratugolea was named in the SANFL side's trial game this week after recovering from a knee injury from the pre-season.
Star midfielder Zak Butters is close to a month away with a knee injury of his own.
