Jarman Impey has signed a long-term deal at Hawthorn.

Impey was already contracted for 2020 but Hawthorn wanted to lock down the defender's long-term future.

His second year with the Hawks saw career-high numbers of disposals, marks and rebound 50s.

“We’re really pleased to have Jarman re-commit for the long-term,” GM-Football Graham Wright told the club's website.

“He’s such a valuable player for us. In 2019, he really developed his game on field but also developed his leadership off it.

“He’s held in high regard by his teammates and is such a respected clubman.

“While Jarman’s season was interrupted by injury, he has been attacking his rehab over the past few months and is progressing well.

“We’re all looking forward to seeing him back out on the park in the latter half of next year.”

Impey was initially Port Adelaide's pick No.21 in the 2013 AFL Draft and spent five years there before being traded to Hawthorn in 2017.
