Restricted Adelaide Crows free agent Tom Doedee is reportedly "weighing up" a significant contract offer from an interstate rival club.
The 26-year-old, who currently doesn't have a contract for next season, had his 2023 campaign cut short in June after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against the Gold Coast Suns in Darwin.
After it was reported in late August that the key defender wasn't overly pleased with a modest contract offer from the Crows to stay at West Lakes, the Victorian has been closely considering his options as he ponders his footballing future.
Doedee confirmed in June that the Brisbane Lions had shown an interest in acquiring him, but it now appears the Queensland club has formally put forward a contract offer to the interceptor.
According to Seven's Mitch Cleary on Tuesday evening, while the Crows remain keen to retain Doedee, he is thought to be "weighing up" Brisbane's offer.
"The Crows are desperate to keep this man, Tom Doedee," Cleary started.
"He said that he wants to stay at the Crows, but he's now weighing up a big offer from Brisbane ... He has spoken to the Lions in recent weeks.
"It's always a concern when you get to this stage in the season (and the player remains unsigned), the Crows have been out (of action) for a week now, [and] his season's been finished for the best part of a couple of months after his knee injury.
"[He's] still unsigned, so watch this space on what happens with Tom Doedee."
After Nick Murray and Jordon Butts also had their seasons cut short due to respective long-term injuries, the Crows are assessing their key-defensive options this off-season.
Adelaide, along with arch-rival Port Adelaide, has been tied to out-of-contract Essendon defender Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, who appears increasingly likely to request a departure from the Hangar this year.

In the meantime, though, the Crows retained veteran midfielder Matt Crouch on a two-year contract extension on Tuesday.
This year's free agency window commences on October 6, while the league's trade period kicks off on October 9.
