Richmond's injury woes have continued to hinder their 2022 campaign, with midfield duo Hannah Burchell and Laura McClelland sustaining game-ending injuries in Sunday's clash with the Western Bulldogs.
Burchell was stretchered off Whitten Oval in the third term of the match after suffering a suspected knee injury in an attempted tackle that resulted in her awkwardly landing on her left leg.
The 26-year-old required assistance from medicals and appeared in agony following the incident, with play brought to a halt for several minutes.
According to Channel 7's Emma Vosti, it is suspected that Burchell has avoided an ACL injury.
"I think we all feared the worst as we saw her being stretchered off," Vosti said.
"At this stage, I'm being told it's not an ACL.
"She won't be back out there today, but good news at this stage."
McClelland suffered an ankle injury in the opening half of the match, with the Tigers confirming the young onballer wouldn't take any further part in the game.
The pair of injuries add to the ongoing toll of setbacks Ryan Ferguson's side have been forced to work with this season, with defender Harriet Cordner (ACL) and Courtney Wakefield (shoulder) already within the club's injury ward.
Forward Christina Bernardi is also under an injury cloud and was deemed unfit for selection for the Bulldogs clash.
The Tigers welcomed back former No.1 pick Ellie McKenzie for Sunday's clash, with the young star returning from a calf injury sustained in the pre-season, while and Poppy Kelly (knee) was also among the inclusions for Round 5.
