Carlton has been dealt with yet another injury blow, with Mitch McGovern suffering a hamstring injury.

Already dealing with an array of injuries, McGovern strained his hamstring during Sunday's match against Hawthorn, but continued to play out the match as a result of the bench already riddled with injury woes.

According to the Herald Sun, McGovern will definitely miss Sunday's clash against North Melbourne - and is also a chance to miss out the following week against arch-rivals Collingwood.

The 24-year-old has been unlucky with injuries so far in his short stint at the Blues, with the forward having an injury-interrupted pre-season heading into the 2019 campaign.

It adds to the growing list of injury concerns at Ikon Park, with Kade Simpson, Matthew Kreuzer and Nic Newman all set for stints on the sidelines following the clash at the University of Tasmania Stadium.

In more optimistic news for Blues fans, Charlie Curnow is likely to return to the fold for the North Melbourne match-up at Marvel Stadium.

“Charlie was really close to playing last week, it was only at the last minute that we pulled him out,” Carlton's director of high performance Andrew Russell said.

“He trained really well today and we’re really positive that he’ll be back out there again this week.”
