Gold Coast superstar Touk Miller is remaining optimistic a fresh knee injury won't keep him out of action for too long.
The Suns co-captain was pictured in a knee brace and on crutches after his side's 43-point win over North Melbourne on Sunday, having been helped off the field in the arms of club medical staff during the third term of the match.
Doubting a worst-case scenario, Miller was confident post-game that he had avoided an ACL injury and that he'd be back playing in no time.
"It'll be something around my knee and my meniscus ... it'll be a small recovery and we'll be back out and running soon," Miller told Fox Footy after the win.
"Nothing's cleared but I doubt it's an ACL, from what I've heard when other boys have done it, it'd be a lot worse than that (what I felt)."
Any absence of Miller, the Suns' two-time Club Champion, dual All-Australian and the reigning AFLCA Champion Player of the Year, will be significant for Suns coach Stuart Dew, who notched up his second win of the year over the weekend.
Dew confirmed after the game that Miller will be sent for scans, with his ball-winning onballer's injury set to force the Suns coach into tinkering with his midfield.
"It's a knee (injury), we're not sure what it is," Dew said.
"He was really positive (after the match). I'm sure he's disappointed because it's clearly going to mean some time off, it's just how long.
"Obviously he's an important player … we'll just digest the information once it comes.
"It'll (Miller's absence) force us into a little bit of a change, but looking into the positive and what we can do, there's an opportunity, I wouldn't say to try things, but give exposure to different guys and try and make the most of what comes from that situation."
The Suns will head to Marvel Stadium next Sunday to face Richmond for their Round 7 fixture.
Gold Coast currently sit 14th on the AFL ladder with two wins from six matches.
