Adelaide have provided an update on injured co-captain Rory Sloane.

The star midfielder hurt his hamstring in the second quarter of his side's win over Melbourne in Darwin on Saturday night and was subsequently ruled out for the game.

Adelaide Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders confirmed that the injury was not serious, but said Sloane was in doubt for next week's clash with GWS.

"Early in the second quarter, Rory spread hard from a stoppage lunging to tackle James Harmes," he told the club website.

"He sustained a stretch mechanism-based strain to the hamstring.

"It assessed clinically as low grade. He will undergo scans and reassessment Monday."
