Eagles star forward Jack Darling will take no further part in his side's clash with the Demons at Optus Stadium.
The 26-year old suffered a concussion after getting crunched in a tackle by Melbourne defender Oscar McDonald during the first quarter.
Darling was not taken off the field on a stretcher, instead being helped by medicos.
Chanel Sevenย commentator Peter Bell confirmed in the second quarter that Darling would not return to the game after failing a concussion test.
Jack Darling has been ruled out for the rest of the game. Huge loss for the Eagles. #AFLEaglesDees
