Tigers duo Nick Vlastuin and Daniel Rioli are in doubt to face the Dockers next week after sustaining injuries in Saturday night's loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Both players suffered blows in the first quarter, with Vlastuin hurting his ankle and Rioli injuring his thigh.

Richmond coach praised Rioli for playing through the injury despite being held to 66 per cent game time.

"He's bruised and battered at the moment. We needed him to keep playing, and to his credit he put his hand up to play, but he's pretty sore," Hardwick told reporters post-match.

Hardwick compared Vlastuin's injury to David Astbury's, who missed the Bulldogs clash after going down in Richmond's Anzac Day eve win over Melbourne last Wednesday.

"It's probably similar to Dave's last week. He did finish the game but it's one of those ones, he's put a lot of weight through it," Hardwick said.

"He's probable at this stage. We'll wait and see."

Hardwick was hoping to see Astbury return next week.

"It was severe and we thought he may have been a chance of getting up, but it's one of those ones, it probably dags a little bit if we play him (against the Dogs)," the Tigers coach said.
