Multiple calf issues have put a line through Western Bulldogs ball magnet Adam Treloar playing the start of the 2025 season.
The 31-year-old has been training away from the main group recently as he looked to manage the concern which has hampered his summer.
Treloar is now facing multiple months out of action in the wake of his latest setback, which will rule him out of the club's season opener against North Melbourne and several following matches
โAppreciating the continuity and significant amount of pre-season training that is required to support durability and performance across an AFL season, we will need to be conservative with Adam's rehabilitation and reconditioning timeline,โ Dogs sports medicine boss Chris Bell said.
The delay to his seasons comes after arguably Treloar's best campaign in his 13-year career, having claimed his first All-Australian blazer and a runners-up finish in the Dogs' best and fairest in 2024.
Treloar averaged 31.52 disposals, 11.70 contested possession and 5.78 clearances per game last year as an integral piece in Luke Beveridge's midfield.
The veteran onballer will join utility Anthony Scott and Jason Johannisen in missing the start of the 2025 season, with Scott dealing with a kneecap issue and Johannisen hamstrung for multiple months.
All-Australian ruckman Tim English has been placed on a modified training program after suffering an abdominal injury at training in recent weeks.
The Dogs are scheduled to face Essendon and Hawthorn next month in the build-up to their 2025 campaign, which gets underway against North Melbourne on Saturday, March 15.
