Richmond free agent Jack Graham is reportedly garnering interstate interest ahead of the off-season, while the Tigers are looking to strengthen their draft hand by November.
Graham is among a plethora of senior Tigers players without a deal beyond the current season, with Dustin Martin, Dion Prestia, Dylan Grimes, Toby Nankervis, Ben Miller and Kamdyn McIntosh also eligible for free agency.
The Tigers also have Liam Baker, Thomson Dow, Maurice Rioli, Jack Ross and Rhyan Mansell, among others, off-contract this year.
The club finds itself in a difficult position to start the Adem Yze era, with injuries taking a toll to limit Richmond to one win heading into Round 8.
Currently holders of Pick 3 for this year's draft, the Tigers could lean into a rebuild phase and gain draft capital through off-season departures, or could look to strengthen its list and act heavily through retention signings.
According to 9 News, the Tigers will be in a fight to retain Graham, who has interest from West Coast this year.
The two-time premiership player would struggle for a certified midfield role when Richmod are near full fitness, with Yze currently without the likes of Prestia, Jacob Hopper, Tim Taranto and Ross through injury, while Thomson Dow and Tyler Sonsie shape as key players going forward.
The Eagles could hand Graham a significant role in their emerging midfield and utilise the South Australian's experience within a young core.
Any free agency move for Graham would likely see Richmond gain draft compensation and add to their current 2024 hand.
Baker is also said to be on the radar of West Coast and Fremantle, with the gun Tiger to weigh up a potential return home to Western Australia.
If Baker was to leave, the Tigers would pocket a strong return for the in-demand utility, with at least one first-round selection expected to be included.
The Dockers currently hold a trio of first-round picks for 2024, while West Coast would want to secure a without giving up their opening draft selection, which is expected to fall in the top five picks.
9 News has reported that Nankervis, Rhyan Mansell, Maurice Rioli and Samson Ryan are expected to re-sign at Punt Road, leaving the likes of Baker and Graham as avenues to strengthen their draft hand.
The Tigers currently hold two second-round selections and three third-round selections for this November's draft, with the report suggesting Richmond may look to package those selections to increase their number of top 20 selections.
Clubs like Adelaide, Carlton, Brisbane and Gold Coast will be keen to offload some of their early selections given linked father-son and Academy prospects that could demand a first-round bid.
As it stands, Richmond's current draft hand reads as: Picks 3, 23, 31, 41, 42, 49, 59, 65 and 70 across four rounds of selections.
