Veteran Geelong defender Zach Tuohy will call the Pivot City home for at least one more season after agreeing to terms on a one-year extension with the Cats.
2024 will be the Irishman's 14th at AFL level after initially calling Carlton home for seven seasons before making the move down the highway ahead of 2017.
A Portlaoise native, Tuohy became the most experienced Emerald Islander to ever play Australia's game, having made 270 AFL appearances, eclipsing his late compatriot Jim Stynes during Geelong's Round 17 win over North Melbourne.
Along with teammate Mark O'Connor and Swans trailblazer Tadhg Kennelly, Tuohy completes the three-man club of Irishmen to have won men's AFL premierships.
News of Tuohy's fresh agreement was broken by Josh Gabelich of AFL Media and was ironically announced on the same day that fellow Irish defender Darragh Joyce earned his own extension with Brisbane.
The Cats made further signings of their own on Thursday, with the club announcing it had secured the services of Catagory B Rookie Joe Furphy for the 2024 season.
Since making his debut in Round 11 of the 2011 season, the beloved rebounder has racked up tonnes with both the Blues (120) and Cats (150), as well as featuring for the All Stars and his native Ireland during the now-dormant International Rules Series.
