Jackson Archer has re-signed with North Melbourne, putting pen to paper on a new one-year deal that will tie him to the club until at least the end of 2024.
A father-son Kangaroo, Archer made his debut for the club in Round 15 last year, going on to play three games in an injury disrupted season.
The 20-year-old is yet to play this season but has impressed throughout the pre-season, earning the praise of his teammates.
The son of 311-game Roo Glenn, Archer was drafted by the club with pick No.59 in the 2021 AFL National Draft.
North's head of football talent Brady Rawlings said the young Roo had impressed over the pre-season and the club was excited to see him sign on.
“We are rapt to have Jackson sign on for another season with the Roos,” Rawlings said.
“Jackson stood out over the pre-season with his endurance, tenacity, and competitive nature. When you see him out there, it's not hard to work out whose son he is.
“We are excited to watch him continue to develop as a footballer and see more of these attributes at AFL level.”
North Melbourne will hope to continue their winning ways in Round 3, when the club faces the winless Hawks in Tasmania on Saturday.
